AirMech

First of all I'd like to apologize for my lack of posts recently. The reason for my disappearance is no other than AirMech.

AirMech is a top down real time strategy game. Well, it's more of a tactical game really, resembling the likes of DoTA, HoN, LoL etc. But those don't have anything on AirMech. Airmech is faster, more challenging, has better controls and you drive a jet that can transform into a mecha which shoots lasers. Lasers!



It's really a re-imagination of the game Herzog Zwei which came out for the SEGA Genesis back in 1989. So if you're my age you might even remember the pre-cursor to this game. Either case, It's awesome, and you should try it.

You can find it over at Carbon Games. And it's free. There's both a PC and a Chrome (the web browser) version on there. I recommend getting the PC version thought. The Chrome version got some FPS issues.

How to make a homemade Big Mac

Here's a video giving a detailed and official way to make a Big Mac burger at home. It's part of a new McDonald's ad campaign in Canada that basically says "Hey, look at us, we're not evil". 

Anywho, since they posted the video but somehow forgot to post a list of ingredients I'm going to try my best to write them down.

Ingredients:


Big Mac Sauce:

• Mayonnaise
• Sweet pickle relish
• Classic yellow mustard
• White wine vinegar
• Garlic powder
• Onion powder
• Paprika powder

Condiments:

• Onion
• Lettuce
• Pickle
• Cheese

Bun:

Just a regular large bun cut into three pieces and toasted on the stove

Mixing it:

I guess you'll have to try different mixes of the quantities yourself. I'd say he's using about 4 deciliter of mayo, 1.5 deciliter of sweet pickle relish, 0.5 deciliter mustard, a teaspoon of white vinegar and like a couple of grams of each spice. But my guess is as good as yours.

Anywho, I wish you luck if you're going to try it. I'm thinking of trying it right now.


Edit: I found that 2.5 dl mayo, 0.5 dl of pickle relish and about 0.2 dl of mustard worked really, really, well. took a tablespoon of the spices and vinegar each.

Fastest robot in the world

I just found this footage of the fastest robot in the world.



It's not long until we can get our own copy of that mechanical cat robot from the movie Mars. Or was it red planet? I can't remember. Hell, all you have to do is put a head and some razor claws on that thing and you're done.

The Declaration of Internet Freedom

Well, it's been a boring week. With the exception for Power Big Meet that was last weekend. It's one of, if not the, biggest american car meets in the world. And it's just a whole big drink party. We were seated in a car that they had cut the roof of off just the day before, drinking beer and whiskey until the cops came and told us the car was illegal to drive for like the third time.

Anywho, about the Declaration of Internet Freedom thing. It's an article I stumbled over the other day when i was browsing the web. Their info pictures probably do the explaining way better than me:

To understand is to perceive patterns

I just found a video that describes something I've been thinking about for years and years just beautifully. How small patters come together to form bigger ones. Going from atoms, molecules, single celled life, multi-cellular life,  organisms with organs, animals with collaboration, cities, information networks around the world. Are cities alive? Is the internet aware? Will the universe ultimately be one big living, thinking, entity?

Today is midsummer! For you non-European that's a holiday centered around the summer solstice. But it's quite more festive than that. It's kinda like our national day, but isn't at the same time... well the point is that I'm going to get drunk today. Really drunk.
